Opening Day!
Inaugurating a new semester, at least, is always fun.
January 21 is the first day of class, Spring '25 (frigid though it feels out there this week in middle Tennessee). Always a hopeful, blank-slate day of expectation, renewal, and possibility. Nothing is more characteristic of humanity than our willingness to live on a chance, said William James, and on Day One we all have a chance to learn, grow, connect, and move forward. It's a day of introductions, of ourselves and our subject. Can't wait!
